docente IFC - Campus BrusqueI worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Università degli Studi di Genova, where I focus on advancing the understanding of non-centrosymmetric lattice and blocky materials. My research involves the development and validation of variational continualization models and the determination of global Cosserat elastic constants, supporting the multiscale design of architected materials. Before joining UniGe, I also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at DPIA University of Udine, where I studied, developed, and tested advanced Phase-Field methods for predicting crack nucleation, propagation, and phase transformation in polycrystalline and bio-inspired structures, including triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS). Throughout my academic journey, my goal has been to bridge mathematics, mechanics, and computation to solve innovative problems in materials engineering. I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Systems Engineering at IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca, within the MUSAM research unit, where I investigated computational modelling of complex structural systems. During my PhD, I was also a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Additive Manufacturing, University of Nottingham (UK), working on the design, manufacturing, and mechanical testing of TPMS specimens. Earlier, I earned a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC), in Brazil. I have also held teaching positions as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the Instituto Federal Catarinense (Campuses Brusque and Rio do Sul), where I taught courses such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Geometry to both undergraduate and high-school students. Alongside academia, I have contributed to applied research and technology development, including projects on CAD/CAE integration and digital-manufacturing software at TREE-TOWER and demonstrators for failure analysis of complex 3D materials at ARTES 4.0. I additionally worked as a Mathematics Tutor for Tutor.com in the United States, supporting students across multiple levels of education. Driven by curiosity and a passion for interdisciplinary science, I strive to create computational tools and theoretical models that enable smarter, stronger, and more efficient materials and structures.
