Paulo Roberto Lima Almeida

Professor at the Federal Institute of Paraíba (IFPB), Brazil. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) in 2026.His research lies at the intersection of nonlinear dynamics, information theory, topological data analysis, and machine learning, with a focus on understanding, monitoring, and predicting the behavior of complex engineering systems. His work explores how dynamical, statistical, and topological structures can reveal underlying physical mechanisms, characterize degradation processes, and support reliable decision-making under uncertainty.His research interests include fault diagnosis, prognostics and health management, persistent homology, recurrence analysis, uncertainty quantification, domain adaptation, and physics-informed learning. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of mathematically grounded, interpretable, and generalizable methodologies that bridge theoretical advances and practical engineering applications.His investigations encompass rotating machinery, energy storage systems, electronic devices, and other dynamical systems, addressing fundamental challenges in reliability, predictive maintenance, and data-driven modeling.
