Vinícius de Miranda Rios

He holds a Bachelors degree in Information Systems from the Centro Universitário Luterano do Brasil (CEULP/ULBRA), a specialization in Telecommunications Management and Consulting from the Instituto Brasileiro de Pós-graduação e Extensão (IBPEX), and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Telecommunications from the Universidade de Brasília (UnB). He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), Covilhã, Portugal, under a co-tutelle agreement with the University of Bordeaux, Talence, France. Currently, he serves as an Professor EBTT at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Estado do Tocantins (IFTO), Palmas Campus. His professional activities include the design and coordination of advanced training, certification, and research projects in collaboration with Huawei Technologies. He is currently Huawei Certified Academy Instructor and 2x Huawei Certified ICT Associate-Datacom. His technical expertise encompasses Information Systems and Computer Networks, with emphasis on Ethernet and wireless technologies, as well as Artificial Intelligence, particularly in machine learning and fuzzy logic systems. His current research interests focus on network security and intelligent systems, especially the development of AI-driven methodologies for the detection and mitigation of Distributed Denial of Service attacks.
